Man from Srebrenica, Ilijas Begic, achieves his dream. He decided to expand his family property near Vidikovac. Four years ago, he bought additional 135 dunams of land and started building a heliport.

Begic says that the hill has already been flatten in this area, so now the helicopter can land.

“I also finished the macadam road, so it is now necessary to do the asphalting and the lighting. I have offered to Srebrenica municipality to take part in the completion of the project, “ says Begic, adding that if Mine of Lead and Zinc are interested in this area, in the case of an accident, this location would be the best option for transporting injured people to the hospital, because it is near to Sasam, Bratunac and Srebrenica. if this area is interested in the Sase Oil and Zinc Mine transport injured in the hospital because of its proximity to Sasama, Bratunac and Srebrenica.

“There is a need for heliport, especially during July, when Srebrenica is visited by numerous delegations. So far, the helicopters have landed to the football stadium in the cove and in the nearness of the power lines, so these pilots need great skill to land, and besides that, the grass in the stadium is being destroyed, “ Begic states.

Besided the heliport, Begic plans to develop tourism, fruit-growing and fruit processing in this area. He has already planted about 1.200 trees of various fruits (pears, apples, plums), and as he says, he will not stop planting, because in the future he plans to start processing fruit here.

He has also built two lakes, one will be with the carp, and the other will be used for swimming. Also, there is a  plan is to develop camping tourism, and later to build bungalows.

“The advantages of this area are multiple, and it is especially abundant with water sources, “ Begic emphasized.
