Commenting on the violent attack on the President of the Union of independent trade unions of FBiH, Josip Milic, in Mostar on Friday 14 February, EUD/EUSR spokesperson Andy McGuffie said:

andy“We condemn this violent attack unreservedly, and expect a thorough investigation to be made by the police. There is no justification at all for such violent attacks, the perpetrators must be brought to justice.”

Also commenting on the attack on the Partisan Cemetery in Mostar yesterday, he stated that:

“Vandalism against memorial sites or public property is completely unacceptable. We urge the police to investigate the matter.

“The common interests of all the citizens of Mostar must come first. We therefore expect leaders in Mostar to devote their efforts to promote dialogue and understanding”.
