EU-funded Global Programme published Two Calls for Western Balkans

A four-year global programme funded by the EU ‘Strengthening Resilience to Violence and Extremism (STRIVE)’ was launched in May 2015 with an aim to build capacity of state and non-state actors to effectively challenge radicalization and recruitment to terrorism while continuing to respect human rights and international law. The programme will work with various stakeholders such as civil society organizations, research organizations, as well as policymakers and public bodies engaged in counter-terrorism work with the aim of fostering more effective global CVE efforts.

The programme published two Calls for Proposals for Western Balkans:

Support of Civil Society initiatives to Prevent/Counter Violent Extremism in Central Asia, Western Balkans and MENA region

Target countries: Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, FYRoM, Montenegro, Serbia and Jordan.
The total amount available is EUR 680,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum amount EUR 40,000 and maximum amount EUR 80,000. The initial planned duration of a project may not be lower than 6 months nor exceed 12 months.

Research to Explore Vulnerability to Radicalization leading to Violent Extremism in Central Asia and Western Balkans regions

Target countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, FYR Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.
The total amount available is EUR 296,000. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the minimum amount EUR 20,000 and the maximum amount EUR 50,000. The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 6 months nor exceed 10 months.

Deadline to submit concept notes for both Calls is 30 August 2018.
