“Undermining of the stronger process of European integration that all political leaders emphasized as their commitment, is risked by holding a referendum,” as released from the EU Delegation to B&H.
They emphasized that the European Union has clearly stated its opinion, including the recent conclusions of the Foreign Affairs Council on B&H that holding a referendum in Republika Srpska on state justice would put in question the cohesion, sovereignty and integrity of B&H.
“Leaders of all political parties at the Parliament, including the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, have committed themselves on this in February 2015,” as stated from the EU Delegation in B&H.
They added that the initiative to hold a referendum takes the attention away from the real social and economic problems that the citizens of this country are facing with every day.
“The focus should be on stabilization of the economy and creation of new job places, especially for young people, promoting the rule of law and fight against corruption. This opinion of ours has not changed. The questions related to the reform of the judiciary are still further resolved through the EU-B&H structured dialogue on Justice,” as concluded in the EU Delegation in B&H.
