Regarding statements that call into question the genocide committed in Srebrenica, the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina/EU Special Representative Office reiterates that this is not a matter for debate at all. Genocide was committed at Srebrenica. Two international courts have issued judgments that confirm this. There should be no doubt that the EU fully recognises these international legal rulings. EUD/EUSR shall not tolerate any deviation from this position.
Political leaders in BiH who choose to play with this issue for narrow purposes – rather than lead by example and help society acknowledge and come to terms with this terrible crime – dishonour the victims and their families, and diminish their own credibility.
