EUFOR and NATO Cooperation remains essential in supporting domestic Institutions

Today, on May 15th, NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, Ambassador Kevin Hamilton, visited COM EUFOR, Major General Maurizio Fronda.

Discussion provided an opportunity for Major General Fronda to address key issues related to the regional security environment, as well as to outline EUFOR’s ongoing role in supporting stability across Bosnia and Herzegovina. EUFOR Commander underlined the unified and complementary approach of the European Union and NATO within the framework of Berlin Plus Arrangements, in working alongside domestic institutions to ensure continued peace, stability, and security for all citizens.

Major General Fronda emphasized the strength of this partnership, stating: “The close cooperation between EUFOR and NATO HQ Sarajevo is a key element in maintaining stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Together, we remain fully committed to supporting the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina and ensuring a safe and secure environment for all citizens.”

The meeting reaffirmed strong cooperation, information sharing, and joint engagement, EUFOR and NATO continue to demonstrate their collective commitment to long-term peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

EUFOR continues to operate under its mandate in support of the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, maintaining a credible, visible, and impartial presence while working in close partnership with both national and international partners to ensure a safe and secure environment across the country.
