EUFOR welcomed a distinguished delegation from Germany during their official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by Lieutenant General Dr. Christian Freuding, Chief of the Army, and Mr. Niklas Wagener, Member of the German Parliament.

The visit aimed to engage directly with German troops serving within EUFOR and to gain a comprehensive understanding of their role, responsibilities, and ongoing contribution to Operation ALTHEA. Throughout the visit, the delegation had the opportunity to observe EUFOR’s activities on the ground and discuss the mission’s current priorities and challenges.

Commander of EUFOR, Major General Maurizio Fronda, together with Deputy Commander, Brigadier General Bálint Legoza, warmly welcomed the delegation. During their discussions, they emphasized the importance of continued cooperation among contributing nations and reaffirmed the mission’s commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The visit also highlighted Germany’s longstanding and valuable contribution to EUFOR, underlining its strong commitment to peace, stability, and security in the region. Engagements such as this serve to strengthen mutual understanding and reinforce the collective effort in support of Operation ALTHEA. EUFOR remains dedicated to working closely with international partners and local institutions to ensure lasting stability and support the progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path.
