The skies above Mostar became part of Exercise Quick Response 2026 on 26 August as EUFOR conducted an airborne exercise designed to demonstrate readiness, responsiveness and credibility.
As part of the exercise scenario, Italian’s Folgore Brigade paratroopers deployed from a low-flying aircraft arriving directly from Italy, demonstrating an additional means through which EUFOR can rapidly deploy and reinforce its presence in Bosnia and Herzegovina when required.
The airborne activity tested the ability of participating forces to deploy at speed and operate effectively within a multinational environment. It also demonstrated the flexibility available to EUFOR through the integration of reserve forces and specialist capabilities during Quick Response 2026.
The activity provided a highly visible demonstration of the training and preparation behind EUFOR’s readiness, while highlighting the importance of maintaining a credible and responsive force capable of reinforcing its presence quickly. Exercise Quick Response 2026 tests EUFOR’s ability to integrate in-theatre and reserve forces, strengthen multinational interoperability and respond effectively across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Through regular training and reinforcement exercises, EUFOR continues to maintain the capabilities required to fulfil its mandate and support a safe and secure environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
