Ilustracija-trgovina-ljudima-475x316The NGO “Novi put” in cooperation with the elementary school “Mujaga Komadina”, the 3rd and the 6th elementary school, the students of the UWC and the Association of young psychologists marked today at the Španski trg in Mostar the European anti-trafficking day. – reported the AA agency.

“Novi put” is an organization which has been working for many years now on fighting against organized criminal as well as against human trafficking and child abuse – reminded the president of the organization Edisa Demić.

“Today, we wish to send a message to all people about the presence of this problem in B&H, which are its recognizable forms and how to warn the younger generations about this. The children who made illustrations today tried to express how they see the human trafficking and how they perceive child abuse, especially because they see children begging on the streets of their own time on a daily basis.” – said Demić.

According to her words, the most frequent form of human trafficking earlier before was the sexual exploitation and later exploitation at work.

“We have a case of more than 650 people coming from B&H and working in other countries who were exposed to exploitation at work and their basic human rights were taken away from them.” – said Demić.

She believes that the state institutions should have a developed strategy and confront these problems more efficiently.

“There are the Ministry of human rights, the Ministry of security and authorised institutions like the prosecutions and the police. We believe that the organization of this gathering will raise the public awareness as well as that our message will have a positive outcome and that the citizens will be more careful while receiving doubtful work offers.” – stated Demić.
