konjevićLast night, an exhibition of paintings of Milan Konjović was opened in the Museum of Contemporary Arts of RS in Banja Luka, reports Glas Srpske.

The exhibition has 74 paintings and it was opened by art historian Sava Stepanov who said that Konjević’s art at one period left the position of actuality.

Stepanov noted that Konjević was not in favour of social-realism, but instead he painted in the post-modern style and sometimes included cubism in his works.

The exhibition will be opened in the Museum of Contemporary Arts of RS until 20 July.

Milan Konjović (January 28, 1898 – October 20, 1993) was a prominent Serbian painter whose works can be divided into six periods of artistic style. He studied in many countries abroad and lived in Paris from 1924 to 1932.
