linija_crvenaEast West Center Sarajevo and ArtandLife Istanbul will open the exhibition “Sarajevska crvena linija” (Sarajevo red line) at “Beyoglu Art Municipal Gallery”, the central gallery in Istanbul on the occasion of Sarajevo Day on 7 April.

The exhibition is organized by Beste Gursu, the famous Turkish curator and Haris Pašović, the director. The exhibition consists of photos of B&H photographers Dado Ruvić, Denis Ruvić, Midhat Mujkić, Midhat Poturović and Amer Kajmović and a video edited by Ismar Hadžiabdić, the Executive Producer of East West.

This material was created on 6 April 2012, during the memorial event “Sarajevska crvena linija” in the memory of 11.541 murdered citizens of Sarajevo during the Sarajevo siege 1992-1996.

The photos express in a shocking and artistic way the atmosphere in Sarajevo during that day, with a 800 meter red line of chairs putted from Eternal Flame until the Ali-pašina Mosque. Tens of thousands of Sarajevo citizens passed by on that location during that day, paying tribute to the murdered Sarajevo citizens and they left flowers and messages on the chairs.

The exhibition will last until 20 April 2014.
