13035534_1757592741144069_285125472_oAs it was the case with Bosnian “pyramids”, the news of Zavidovici sphere quickly went around the world, so we did not wait too long for reactions of experts and scientists.

To recall, Semir Osmanagic recently came back in focus of media after he revealed the existence of spherical formations near Zavidovici, and that according to him are the work of long gone culture that inhabited this region more than 1,500 years ago.

The sphere is certainly impressive, and its striking color and radius between 120 and 150 centimeters easily attracts attention and excites the imagination of the curious people. If we add that is weighs about 30 tons, fascination with the sphere is more than clear.

On the other hand, claims that it belongs to an unknown culture sufficiently capable of spherical processing of extremely hard rock are difficult to prove, simply because there is no other trace of the mysterious culture in this area or beyond, and because there are no traces of any tools on the sphere.

“The spheres probably were not made by human hands. It is possible that they are result of process of precipitation of natural mineral cement between the sediment,” said expert Mandy Edwards from the University of Manchester, as reported by the British Telegraph.

This is a process called concretization, whose result are natural stone spheres that exist in places such as Bowling Ball Beach in California.

Of course, human hands are capable to create a sphere made of rock, which was recorded in Costa Rica. The difference between Zavidovici and Costa Rica is that the sphere in that country are part of the famous culture Diquis whose remains can be found throughout the whole country.

Also, about 300 spheres of culture Diquis are under the protection of UNESCO since 2014.
