namjestajExport of furniture and other finished products in FB&H for 2013 has marked an increase in comparison to the previous year, while the production of furniture has marked a decrease.

Assembly of Forestry and Wood Industry of Chamber of Commerce in FB&H at today’s session in Sarajevo analyzed indicators of wood industry and forestry. The total amount of wood products for nine months of this year has increased 6 percent in comparison to the same period last year, while production for wood processing for ten months increased 9.6 percent.

This sector, as was stressed, for long period is in difficult situation due to bad business environment, lack of legislation in the field of forestry, lack of state support for production of furniture for export and large financial burden.

“This sector should be one of the strategic sector in FB&H”, said the representative of Wood Clusters in B&H Matko Stjepanović and a member of the working group for strategy of wood industry development in FB&H.
