Export of Textile and Leather Industry increased

12921851_1141799032537718_1235565600_oThe industry of textile, apparel, leather and footwear in BiH generated export amounting to about 1.318 billion BAM last year, which is an increase by 4.67 percent in comparison with 2014, while the import amounted to 1.805 billion BAM or by 1.26 percent more than last year.

When it comes to foreign trade exchange of BiH in the past year, this branch of economy is fourth in value of generated export and fifth according to generated import.

At the Assembly of the Association of the industry of textile, apparel, leather and footwear within the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH held last week, was stated that the total foreign trade exchange of BiH amounted to 24.617 billion BAM last year, of which nearly eight percent is related to this branch of industry.

According to statistics, between 2009 and 2014 this branch records constant growth and significant increase in export. Thus, the export-import coverage in the industry of textile, apparel, leather and footwear in 2015 amounted to 73.03 percent and is greater by 2.38 percent than in 2014.
