New mothers in the FBiH could be financed from a special fund in the future, and they should be out of social categories.
This was concluded at the joint session of the Commission for Gender Equality and the Commission for Gender Equality of the House of Representatives of the FBiH, which was held today in Sarajevo.
Young mothers do not have equal rights in the FBiH. The amount of compensation during maternity leave is not equal in all cantons. Also, some mothers cannot use the absence for more than a few months, after which they have to return to work.
The law on the rights of families with children, which is being drafted, could at least partially protect young mothers.
