The second FIBA 3×3 tournament „Sarajevo XXX Open 2016“ will be held in Sarajevo on Saturday, on the court of the Catholic School Center.
Winner of the tournament will perform at the Challenger in Lipik, Croatia, which is the only one of 11 Challengers in the world this year through which two representatives go directly to FIBA 3×3 World Tour.
Sixteen teams from Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Germany and BiH will participate in the tournament. The tournament is of positive character, which means that the best ranked teams from the official rank list of FIBA (3x3planet.com) will perform.
Winner of the World Tour from Prague this year, Prosport Škorci from Kranj (Boris Jersin-15th player in the world, Mensud Julević-18th player in the world, and Jaka Hladnik-40th player in the world), will participate in the tournament, as well as the last year’s winner of the tournament in Sarajevo-Olimp team from Belgrade (Dragan Bjelica-27th player in the world, Nebojša Bošković-29th player in the world, and Aleksandar Solujić-30th player in the world), and the circle of favorites for the winning position is closed with Germans from Squad Streetball Kamp-Lintfort) and Master Team from Belgrade.
Statisti from Split will also take their chances at the tournament. They won the World Tour in Madrid in 2012. Furthermore, the local team XXX (Damir Palata, Feđa Vuleta, Vedran Živić) will also participate.
Other participants are 3×3 Ljubljana Jr., 3×3 Team Kragujevac, Bermudski trougao, Džakovi, Gladiators Adecco, Istočni klan, Monstars, Sinkro, Squad Streetball and Warm up.
Tournament begins on Saturday at 11 a.m., and the finals are scheduled around 9 p.m. Winners of the tournament will win 1.000 EUR, finalists will win 300 EUR, while semifinalists will win 100 EUR each.
Sponsor of the tournament is the Sarajevo Brewery. Tournament will be broadcasted on the official FIBA page in HD.
