The presentation by Ivan Pepić from the Armed Forces and Security University “Dr. Franjo Tuđman”, who presented a map of the territorial division of Bosnia and Herzegovina into three, or rather four, units: Republika Srpska, “Croat Republic”, “Bosniak-Muslim Republic” and the Brčko District, on which the “Croat Republic” is marked in red, which includes Western Herzegovina, Mostar and separate enclaves in Central Bosnia and Posavina, directly alludes to the secession and division of Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to the Institute for Genocide Research Canada (IGK).
They add that this is another anti-civilizational attack on the territorial integrity, sovereignty, independence and political subjectivity of the internationally recognized member of the United Nations, the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The aforementioned anti-Bosnian presentation took place at the TradFest event, an international gathering of conservative leaders, where there was a panel on which Bosnia and Herzegovina is problematized as a “failed state”.
IGK reminds that aggressive criminal policies towards the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina are increasingly intensifying by realizing war goals through other means.
“The positions taken at the aforementioned meeting in Zagreb deny the judgments of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, especially in relation to the judgment ‘Prlić et al.’, which established the existence of a joint criminal enterprise with the aim of creating mono-ethnic parts of the territory in Bosnia and Herzegovina, under the de facto control of official Zagreb, i.e. the neighboring Republic of Croatia, and today the same goals are being pursued through political means, which is contrary to international law.
IGK demands an immediate cessation of political and diplomatic interference by the Republic of Croatia in the internal affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We base this demand on established facts and norms of international law, confirmed by judgments of relevant international courts.
The judgments of the ICTY and its successor IRMCT – have established the existence of joint criminal enterprises in which certain political and military leaders from Croatia participated on the territory Bosnia and Herzegovina, which resulted in serious violations of international humanitarian law, including ethnic cleansing.
Bosnia and Herzegovina should exercise its right to sovereignly and independently regulate its political and legal system, free from external influence.
We call on Canada and the international community to actively support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and ensure consistent respect for the judgments of international courts.
IGK calls on citizens in and outside Bosnia and Herzegovina and their organizations and communities to raise their voices against secessionist policies and express loyalty to the homeland, and on political actors to state-building unity on fundamental issues of the state in these difficult times,” the Institute for Genocide Research Canada (IGK) said in a statement.
