[wzslider autoplay=”true”]BiH astro photographer Alan Catovic pointed his telescope to the sky on the penultimate day of March, and made this year’s first photographs of the starry sky above Sarajevo.

“On Wednesday, I finally opened the season after a relatively long rainy and cloudy period and winter. Last night, there were some clouds and a little wind, but there were also periods when I could record something. Also, the problem was that some objects that I was filming quickly went behind the horizon or behind buildings. These were primarily Horsehead Nebula and Rosette Nebula that go pretty low at the beginning of spring. However, I managed to catch a few shots and two interesting nebulas,” said Catovic.

Recording was performed from the region of Misevici at an altitude of about 620 meters. Catovic used this location for relative peace, light pollution is moderately better than in the city, but worse than on the mountains.

He made five astro photographic recording, and photographed Horsehead Nebula, the Rosette Nebula, a stellar set M44 (also called Crib or Beehive), a stellar set M67 and a set of galaxies Leo I (M95, M96 and M105).

Photographs were made with telescope APO refractor Skywatcher 120mm / 900mm and several digital cameras.
