Director of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FIPA), Marko Kubatlija, met in Algeria with Omar Rekkache, Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), to discuss strengthening economic cooperation and enhancing investment relations between the two friendly countries.
During the meeting, Kubatlija presented FIPA’s activities and the comprehensive support services the Agency provides to foreign investors, from the initial stages of company establishment through to the implementation of investment projects. He highlighted Bosnia and Herzegovina’s key economic sectors with strong potential for foreign investment, as well as the country’s portfolio of available investment projects.
The participants emphasized that the meeting represents an important step toward advancing bilateral cooperation and creating new opportunities for investors in both markets.
FIPA Secretary Maida Bećirović presented the tax system of Bosnia and Herzegovina and outlined various incentives offered by competent institutions to foreign investors. She also discussed preparations for a Memorandum of Understanding between FIPA and AAPI, expected to be signed in the near future, which will further formalize and strengthen cooperation between the two agencies.
Rekkache showcased Algeria’s investment potential, with particular emphasis on the agriculture, energy, tourism, and mining sectors. He also detailed AAPI’s competencies and its role in supporting and promoting foreign investments in Algeria.
The meeting was held in an atmosphere of open dialogue and mutual interest in intensifying investment activities and strengthening connections between the business communities of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Algeria. Special attention was given to the exchange of experiences in attracting foreign investments and creating a more favorable business environment for investors.
The discussions were assessed as highly constructive and a significant step toward deepening economic relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, according to FIPA.
