The fire that raged near Neum for more than ten days was finally extinguished after the afternoon rain that fell yesterday in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The most critical situation was on Mount Zaba, above the village of Brocanac, near the village of Propratnica and between the villages of Hotanj and Zukoviva. The fire was active for more than ten days, and after the rain that fell in Neuma yesterday – the fire was finally extinguished.

At the request of the Neum Civil Protection and the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Civil Protection, a helicopter of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina was engaged several times when extinguishing the fire on Mount Zaba.

There is currently an active fire on the Prenj mountain, in the Bijela canyon location, where forest, grass and vegetation are burning on inaccessible terrain.

Based on the information confirmed to us by the Civil Protection of Herzegovina Neretva Canton, the situation at the fire sites in Konjic – in the localities of Glavaticevo and near the towns of Sadine and Borci has not changed. Stumps are burning inside the fire area, but the situation is under control and there is no need to engage the helicopter of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Klix.ba writes.
