The First BH Convoy of Five Trucks to depart on Wednesday for Syria

Syrian Refugees to come to B&H klix.baThe first BH convoy “BiH for Syria” with five trucks, or 120 tons of flour, will go to Syria on the 25th of January, as confirmed by the director of the Association of International Forum of Solidarity EMMAUS, Hamzalija Okanovic.

This association sent the first convoy of assistance under the “Open the way to Aleppo” in December last year, however, the convoy that will depart on Wednesday is the first exclusive BH convoy of aid for the people of Syria.

Flour was mainly gathered by citizens, and mostly through the activities of the Islamic associations of Zvornik, Gracanica, Tuzla, and Zivinice, then the initiative of mayor and citizens of the Municipality of Kalesija.

“Preparations for shipping of flour for convoy “BiH for Syria” are currently taking place, which will depart on Wednesday and travel to the Turkish-Syrian border, where the aid will be distributed to the people of Syria,” said Okanovic, adding that the action of collecting aid for Syria will be continued.

The first amounts of flour that were sent in a convoy “Open the way to Aleppo” were delivered to the bakery in Syria, which is in the possession of Turkish organization Insani Yardim Vakfi (IHH), from which is send food to people in Syria, refugees in collective centers and camps in Turkey.
