First Construction Works for the Olympic Swimming Pool have begun in Mostar

In Mostar, at the locality “Juzni logor”, the ground preparation work for the construction of the Olympic swimming pool, which has been dreamed of in that city for years, began yesterday.

On this occasion, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) Prime Minister Fadil Novalic and Federal Minister of Culture and Sports Zora Dujmovic visited the field with the delegation accompanied by the Mayor of Mostar, Mario Kordic, and the President of the City Council, Salem Maric.

Mayor Kordic said that this locality was rated as the best in the Spatial Plan, both because of the climate and traffic connections.

”The location is owned by the City of Mostar, where there are several old buildings that once belonged to military facilities. There were schools and various facilities there for which we found alternative accommodation and started with the demolition,” Kordic said.

He points out that this story started because of the success of Lana Pudar, who won European gold, and if it wasn’t for that, maybe everything would still be just a story.

Prime Minister Novalic states that the Government of the FBiH provided funds in the amount of eight million BAM for the construction of the swimming pool in this year’s budget and that he wants the swimming pool project to see the light of day as soon as possible.

He emphasized that this story will have the support of the FBiH Government until its completion.

”The swimming pool came to Mostar on the wings of Lana Pudar, and Mostar has young people inclined to success, and if there is an Olympic swimming pool in Mostar, who knows how far it will go, to water polo clubs and our new Olympic winners,” Novalic said, Klix.ba writes.
