The decision of the food inspector ordered the destruction of fresh peaches originating from Italy, in which an increased content of pesticides was found, the Inspectorate of Republika Srpska stated.

The statement says that an increased content of the pesticide “dimethoate” was found, in a concentration above the prescribed maximum level of 0.01 milligram per kilogram, based on the analysis report issued by the laboratory of the Water Institute in Bijeljina.

Fresh peaches from Italy were sampled to determine the presence of pesticide residues as part of the implementation of the Pesticide Residue Monitoring Program for 2022, which is organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Republika Srpska.
