The first meeting of the working group for preparing the proposals for the pipeline “Južni tok”” through the RS was held yesterday in Banja Luka.
The RS Prime Minister Željka Cvijanović said that one of the key priorities of the entity government will be activities related to the construction of the pipeline through the RS, “which will ensure energy stability and the independence of the RS”.
The Acting Director of “Gas Res” Slobodan Puhalac said that the construction of the pipeline is important not only for the RS, but also for all of BiH and pointing to the need that the project should be viewed optimistically and without prejudice.
“The construction of the pipeline “Južni tok” is a national project for the RS and of the representatives of the Serbian government and “Srbijagas”, we received lot of important information that would enable the RS to achieve the level of projects as Serbia has”, confirms the RS Minister for Industry, Energy and Mining Željko Kovačević.
He expressed his gratitude to the RS government and “Srbijagas”, which in this way contributed significantly to the dynamics of the project and whose construction should begin at the end of the year.
“The interest of Serbia is in the area of large-scale infrastructure projects, especially in the area of energy, and all working together with the RS when it comes to mutual interest’’, said that Advisor of the President of the RS government Petar Škundrić, and added that this was particularly true in the project “Južni tok”.
The General Director of JP “Srbijagas” Novi Sad and the Director of the company “South Stream Srbija” Dušan Bajatović said that the amount of gas to the RS is 2 billion cubic meters.
“This means that all major consumers in the RS will be under the most favorable conditions for gas’’, said Bajatović and added that the RS is “making huge steps in the realization of this project”.
