Recently, the first wind turbine was installed in VE Wind farm Mesihovina. The investor and owner of the first wind farm of this kind in BiH is Elektroprivreda HZ HB. The wind power plant Mesihovina will have a total of 22 wind turbines of type SWT-2.3- 108 with a total installed capacity of 50.6 MW and annual production of about 165 GWh.

VE Mesihovina is the first wind energy project in BiH, as reported by Vecernji list BiH.

“With the realization of the project VE Mesihovina, besides the construction of new production capacities in the production system of EP HZ HB, conditions for development of entrepreneurship and industry will be improved as well, new workplaces and jobs will be provided for numerous companies on work implementation, supply, and installation of equipment,” as stated from EP HZ HB.

They added that this project will, among others, further improve the transport infrastructure, together with a number of other benefits for the community, especially local one.

The completion of the works and the commissioning of VE Mesihovina is expected to take place by the end of 2017. From Elektroprivreda HZ HB stated that this is not the only project planned in the Municipality of Tomislavgrad.

“Besides the construction of VE Mesihovina in the Municipality of Tomislavgrad, the PE Elektroprivreda HZ HB is planning to work on the construction of the CHE Vrilo with the strength of 66 MW and an investment value of around 90 million EUR,” as announced from this public enterprise.
