After the Floods: “Duga” Bridge in Zavidovici to connect the two Banks again

DugaAt the site of the pedestrian bridge “Duga” in Zavidovici, which was destroyed during the floods in May 2014, the construction of a new bridge of the same name has started, and it should be completed by the end of the year.

From the Municipality Zavidovici said that they applied with two projects in the context of the Emergency Recovery Project from Floods that is implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry of the FBiH, with funding from the World Bank.

The first project involves the construction of the pedestrian bridge “Duga”, while the second project includes the construction of a pedestrian bridge made of steel ropes that would connect settlement Dolina and Alici.

The project design, supervision, construction and coordination were completed from the approved funding.

Project Implementation Unit of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry of the FBiH already conducted a procedure for selection of the project designer, supervision and contractor.

Works on the construction of the bridge were given to the company Porobic Ltd. The value of the works amounts to 978,811.52 BAM, and the bridge will be 96 meters long and 5.20 meters wide.
