FM Turkovic: BiH remains firmly committed to Ukraine’s Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity

Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turkovic participated in the extraordinary session of the Standing Committee of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) at the ministerial level.

At the meeting, she discussed the situation in Ukraine, and a decision was made to evacuate members of the organization’s mission.

Minister Turkovic addressed the session, emphasizing that she was speaking on behalf of the country where the genocide was committed three decades ago, and no one expected that any European country would face such an attack.

“Bosnia and Herzegovina remains firmly committed to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and we call for an immediate end to fighting and shelling! OSCE principles, security and international law are under attack today. Hostility and suffering of innocent civilians must end immediately,” she said. Minister Turkovic called on Russia and Belarus to refrain from using force in the interests of peace, regional and global stability.

She expressed support and gratitude to the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, which includes part of BiH. citizens.

“The activities and work of these brave women and men require our recognition and our support. I welcome the decision of the OSCE Secretary General to ensure that they are temporarily evacuated. This is a dark day for Europe and the world at large. I can only hope it ends. better than it started and I call on all of us to do what we can “, added Minister Turković, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina said.
