The project of the rehabilitation of the landslide and the reconstruction of stairways in the Great Park in Sarajevo was terminated recently. Four old, damaged stairways have been removed and new, concrete ones have been built, whose length is from 15 to 39 meters. The hresa stone was set on all treads, new handrails were made, and new vertical street lighting was installed.

The project was funded by the Municipality Centar with 24.000 BAM. The complete reconstruction was conducted in consultation with the Cantonal Institute for the Protection of Cultural, Historical and Natural Heritage in Sarajevo.

An interesting fact is that the locality of the park used to be the Muslim graveyard Cekrekcinica, which is witnessed by the preserved tombstones. With the arrival of the Austro – Hungarian authorities, the cemetery was turned into a park.
