The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Government, at yesterday’s session, at a suggestion of the FBiH Ministry of Trade, adopted the information on foreign direct investment in the Federation of BiH in 2020.

According to the data of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), the total balance of previous direct foreign investments (DFI), concluding with December 31, 2020, in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, amounted to 9,062 million BAM.

The year marked by the global economic recession caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, however, produced a positive trend when it comes to the DFIs in FBiH.

Last year, the direct foreign investments in Bosnia and Herzegovina amounted to 678.2 million BAM, of which 390.2 million BAM refers to the Federation of BiH.

The leading five investor countries in 2020 in the Federation of BiH, whose total investment was 318 million BAM, were Croatia (134.7 million BAM), Austria (59.9 million BAM), Turkey (54.8 million BAM), Germany (42.7 million BAM) and Slovenia (25.8 million BAM), stated the FBiH Government.
