Foreign Exchange Reserves in BiH recorded Increase

The foreign exchange reserves of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) at the end of August amounted to 15.87 billion BAM and are higher by 306.6 million BAM or 2% compared to the previous month, this bank announced.

Deposits with non-resident banks increased by 196.5 million BAM or 2.4%, investments in securities by 125.8 million BAMor 1.9%, as well as foreign currency in the Bank’s treasury by 4 million BAM or 0, 9%.

Total loans to the domestic sectors at the end of August amounted to 22.86 billion BAM and are higher by 47.7 million BAM or 0.2% compared to July.

Credit growth was registered by the household sector by 72.1 million BAM or 0.6%, by non-financial public enterprises by 6.2 million BAM or 1%, and by other domestic sectors by 2.3 million BAM or 1%.

A decrease in credit growth was registered with private companies by 29.3 million BAM or 0.3% and government institutions by 3.5 million BAM or 0.3%.

The annual growth rate of total loans in August was 4.8%, nominally 1.05 billion BAM.

Annual credit growth was registered in the household sector by 689.3 million BAM or 6.3%, private companies by 338.8 million BAM or 3.7%, non-financial public companies by 65.5 million BAM or 12.3%, and in other domestic sectors by 56.5 million BAM or 33.7%.

Reduction of credit growth on an annual level was registered with government institutions by 88.9 million BAM or 7.9%, Ekapija reports.
