Former PM of Canton Sarajevo comments on Democratic Principle of Government Formation

President of Our Party (NS) and Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina Edin Forto expects that the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be formed in the near future and that the legal deadlines are clearly prescribed.

“If the president and vice-presidents of FBiH, Lidija Bradara, Igor Stojanović and Refik Lendo, do not sign the support for the forming of the new government, we will treat it as a blockade. I sincerely hope that the OHR will treat it as a blockade, which is the blocking of the democratic will of the citizens,” said Forto in an interview with FENA.

He pointed out that the democratic principle does not imply what could be heard about the Bosniak club in the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament, which is that the interests of Bosniaks can be represented by only one political party.

“The democratic principle implies that whoever gathers the majority in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament should form the Government of the FBiH. It is like that in all democratic countries of the world and there is no reason why it should not be the same here,” he pointed out.

He also stated that Our Party still supports the proposal of the Eight that Nermin Nikšić becomes the Prime Minister of the FBiH.
