The current ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Qatar, Abdulah Skaka, was officially arrested on suspicion of abuse of office during the time he was the mayor of Sarajevo (2016 – 2020), it was confirmed for Klix.ba.

During the day, officers of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, under the supervision of the CS Prosecutor’s Office, carried out numerous searches at several locations in the municipalities of Stari Grad, Centar and Vogošća.

After that, Skaka was taken to the premises of the MIA of Sarajevo Canton, where he gave a statement, after which he was arrested. He will be transferred to the premises of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office within the prescribed period.

Action “Visionary” is carried out due to the suspicion of committing several criminal acts, among others – abuse of position, unscrupulous work in the service, forgery of official documents, giving gifts and other forms of benefits.

Due to the suspicion of committing criminal acts, several persons were brought to the official police premises.

Based on the reports received over the past few years, the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office in Sarajevo has opened several cases against Skaka.

There are numerous scandals linked to his name and suspicions of rigged tenders during the organization of EYOF, the construction of public lighting to Skaka’s cottage in Trnovo, illegal employment, the project of delivering a Formula E show car…

In the report submitted in April last year by the mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić, on the work of the previous city administration led by Abdulah Skaka, illegalities and criminal acts of the previous city administration were determined, according to the inspector.
