Four properties were proclaimed as national monuments in BiH, according to the decision made at the 17th session of the Commission to Preserve National Monuments of BiH by the President of the Commission, Radoje Vidovic, and its members Amir Pasic and Goran Milojevic.

These properties are the architectural ensemble – Kekeki-Sinanova (Bakarevica) mosque in Sarajevo, the historical area – Necropolis with stecak tombstones on the locality of Mramorje / Bektica hill in the settlement of Bektici (the Municipality of Srebrenica) and the architectural ensemble of the church of St. Nicholas and the church of the Birth of St. John the Baptist with an Orthodox cemetery in Poljice (Trebinje) and a cemetery ensemble – Jewish cemetery in Travnik.

Members of the Commission also adopted amendments to the Decision on the Proclamation of a historical building – Captain’s Tower in Bihac as the National Monument of BiH. Amendments to the decision refer to the precise description of the protected area and the establishment of measures of the protection.

Furthermore, members of the Commission also made a decision to extend the regime of protection for 18 properties from the petition list.

They also discussed the election of BiH for the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO. Considering the fact that the membership of BiH in that Committee will require some additional obligations, the members of the Commission concluded that it is necessary to further improve cooperation with the representatives of the international community.

At the end was concluded that the Commission to Preserve the National Monuments and representatives of the international community and diplomatic and consular missions in BiH will continue with their mutual cooperation in the future period, as announced by the Commission to Preserve National Monuments of BiH.
