Representatives of the B&H Foreign Trade Chamber, the Swiss Program for Promotion of Exports to the EU and the Swiss (SIPPO) and USAID/Sida Farma Project B&H held a workshop in Sarajevo on the topic ‘Market trends and market demands of fresh fruit and vegetables in B&H’.
Director of the Institute for Education of the Foreign Trade Chamber of B&H Duljko Hasić announced that the Institute, through various workshops and educational activities, helps businesses to meet the conditions for the EU market, which is very demanding. He said that the export of fresh fruit and vegetables is an important area, now has much larger investment and potential than earlier.
He said that the goal of the workshop is to prepare and educate producers who intend to export or who are already exporting to the EU market. Through the workshops, they will be informed on the trends of the market of fresh fruits and vegetables to the EU.
He recalled that from B&H in 2013, fresh fruits and vegetables were exported to the EU market in the value of around 100 million BAM, and that around 245 million BAM were imported.
