Fuele: Another Year of Limited Progress in B&H

stefan fuele“Bosnia and Herzegovina has another year of limited progress behind. The lack of political initiatives for progress is in a direct contrast with the wishes and demands of the citizens who want to see reforms done on the B&H way to EU.” – stated the European commissioner for enlargement policy.

“It is extremely important that all levels of authority form right after the elections” – said Fuele at the EU Delegation in Sarajevo.

He emphasized that the most critical and at the same time most important mission in B&H will be finding the ways to establish an efficient coordination for the treatment of urgent social and economic reforms as well as to involve B&H into “Compact for growth”.

“It’s only when this new political impulse appears that B&H will be able to overcome the current stalemate position in the European integrations.” – stated Fuele.

According to his opinion, what B&H needs and must do at this moment is to be a country acting for common interest and unity.

“There is no doubt that the European Commission and its foreign affairs services will do its best to overcome this ungrateful position and fulfil the expectations of the citizens after the elections.” – said Fuele.

He added that there are many politicians in B&H who find their party interests much more important than the country’s interests.

“I hope that the next report on progress and the elections will serve as a wakeup call and that the governments will soon be formed and involved in building a “bridge” across which to pass from the Dayton phase to EU phase.” – said Fuele.
