High Representative Christian Schmidt met with the United Kingdom’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Karen Pierce, to discuss current events in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider Western Balkans region.
“During the conversation, the importance of continuous international engagement, which includes the Dayton institutions – the High Representative and EUFOR, in providing support to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path to a sovereign, stable and inclusive democracy” is stated in the statement of the Office of the High Representative.
It was also emphasized at the meeting that “a functional and democratic Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the key pillars of long-term peace and stability in the entire region.”
