CazinAdministration of the Public Enterprise “Roads of FBiH” visited the Cazin Municipality, where they talked about the construction of the Cazin bypass. Funds in the amount of seven million EUR have already been provided for this project through the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Project of construction of the Cazin bypass in the length of 7.5 kilometers worth seven million EUR is a part of broader investment program “Modernization of main roads in FBiH”, and its completion is planned for no later than December 31, 2019.

“This is a huge project for this municipality. We already have the project documentation. There is cooperation between municipal structures and services, and we also talked to the Mayor about the solving of property and legal issues, which should be done in the next period. The project will probably be divided into sections, first kilometers should be agreed on, and we expect the public tender to be published already next year,” said Ljubo Pravdić, Director of the enterprise “Roads of FBiH”.

Mayor of Cazin Municipality Nermin Ogrešević emphasized that this project is of great importance not only for the Cazin Municipality, but for the entire region as well.

As a reminder, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development ensured a credit in the amount of 65 million EUR for BiH in July in order to help the repair and improvement of road network that was damaged in the May floods in 2014.

One of the preconditions of the credit is increase in excise taxes for construction of main and regional roads in the amount of five pfenings per liter for oil and oil products.
