airport-banja-lukaGerman airline “Sea Air” is interested in establishing passenger flights from the Banja Luka Airport to destinations in four countries.

Germans are interested in establishing flights from Banja Luka to one of the most frequent world airports and the most frequent airport in Germany – Frankfurt, as well as to Swedish Stockholm and Malmo, the Danish Copenhagen and Swiss Basel.

Representatives of the German airline presented their plans to the Minister of Transportation and Communications of Republika Srpska Neđo Trninić and to the Director of the Airports RS Miroslav Janjić.

Initiative for the meeting in Banja Luka was launched precisely on the German side, which is an additional guarantee that they are seriously interested in connecting the BiH entity RS with European destinations.

The Ministry of Transportation and Communications of the RS stated that the airline “Sea Air” does not have financial requests in terms of subsidies from the Airports RS and the Government of the RS, which was the case in some previous arrangements with other airlines.

“The only thing they requested is logistic and propaganda support. They would sign a commercial agreement, like those signed by companies in the world. It was agreed that technical conditions whose implementation is necessary for implementation of the presented plans should be fulfilled as soon as possible,” stated the Ministry.

Already in early January a new meeting will be held, at which all activities would be defines in detail and when the draft contract would be presented. According to the plans, the flights should be introduced in March 2017, twice a week, while another flight would be introduced in the summer period. The same company is also interested in establishing cargo traffic from the Mahovljani Airport.
