Works at Basel Airport are affecting the flight schedule in Stuttgart. Since the main runway at EuroAirport Basel–Mulhouse-Freiburg, jointly operated by Switzerland and France, is being renovated over a length of 1.5 kilometers, flight operations there have been significantly reduced.
The low-cost carrier Wizz Air is therefore temporarily redirecting some routes to Stuttgart.
Between April 15th and May 20th, Stuttgart will be connected with four destinations in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Serbia, and North Macedonia.
For around one month, these additional connections will be available from Stuttgart Airport: Tuzla (BiH: from April 15th to May 20th; Ohrid (North Macedonia): from April 15th to May 20th; Banja Luka (BiH): from April 16th to May 19th; Nis(Serbia): from April 16th to May 19th.
Flights to Tuzla will operate five times a week during this period, and to Ohrid three times a week. The Stuttgart-Banja Luka and Stuttgart-Nis routes will operate four times a week.
Wizz Air offers flights from Stuttgart to Eastern Europe, German media write. Destinations usually include larger cities such as Budapest, Skopje, Tirana, Sofia, and Bucharest.
