The military envoy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colonel Franz Josef Nolte, informed today in Sarajevo the Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zukan Helez that the Government of Germany allocated 6.5 million euros in the budget for 2024 for infrastructure projects in the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that Colonel Nolte said that within those 6.5 million euros, 1.5 million will be spent on the purchase of field uniforms for members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Also, in addition to these already approved funds, there is a possibility that Germany will help with an additional million euros, which would be spent on infrastructure projects in the barracks of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Pazarić. All the mentioned funds are aimed at improving the living and working conditions of the members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina at our locations,” the ministry’s announcement states.
The German military envoy thanked Helez for his hospitality during the visit of the German Minister of Defense Boris Pistorius to Bosnia and Herzegovina and invited him to pay a return visit to his German colleague.
“The constant support that the Federal Republic of Germany provides to our country has made Bosnia and Herzegovina and Germany become friendly countries in the full sense of the word,” Helez said.
