Tribute to Little Muhamed radiosarajevo.baA pile of candles, flowers and stuffed animals are on the stairs in Moabit, the location in Berlin where the little four-year-old boy from Bosnia and Herzegovina Muhamed Januzi was kidnapped on October 1.

Germans and the refugees who are waiting on those stairs to register with the German authorities and request asylum are paying tribute to little Muhamed.

“We couldn’t protect you. May God protect you”, one banner said.

“The fate of little Muhamed got me really shaken”, said Ingrid Mueller, a woman whohas been bringing food, water and clothes to the refugees.

Volunteers who are helping the refugees in Moabit were weeping. The police sent them home, while the investigation is being conducted.

Muhamed’s mother Aldijana is crying all the time and receiving help from a team of psychologists.

Muhamed was killed a day after he was kidnapped. He was sexually assaulted in the home where his abductor Silvio lives with his parents, and while he was crying and calling for help the killer got affraid that his parents will hear him so he strangled the little boy with a belt. Afterwards he moved the body to the attic, and then in the car, where it was found by the police on Thursday after the killer was reported by his mother.
