Working action is currently taking place on Trebevic, because many volunteers together with NASA engineer Zaineb Nagin Cox are participating in cleaning up the observatory, which is a small contribution to the total reconstruction of this important place for BiH researchers.
During the day will be organized a lecture of Nagin Cox on tactical missions to Mars. An exhibition entitled “Astronomical Observatory yesterday, today, tomorrow” will be opened, where will be presented everything that was done before 1992, then how observatory looks today and how it is designed to look in the future.
For a complete renovation and putting into operation of observatory on Trebevic will be needed around 500,000 BAM.
“It is very important to show support for the reconstruction of this kind of observatory which Sarajevo has. In today’s lecture, we will talk about space geological investigations on Mars, robotic research and other missions related to astronomy. It is therefore important to have observatory in Sarajevo, where we can observe and approach space bodies,” said Nagin Cox in a brief address to the media.
Cox is guest in several cities across the country from the 10th to 16th of April on the occasion of marking “Week of space exploration”, organized by the US Embassy in BiH.
