Goldberg Variations for the First Time in Sarajevo

christopher_taylorThe famous masterpiece by Johann Sebastian Bach, one of the most complex achievements in piano literature, is rarely performed because it requires exceptional piano skills, technique and concentration.

For this piece, pianists face a great task of decoding Bach’s cosmic music, which in the Goldberg variation is presented in the form that critiques consider perfect, by one of the most important composers in the history of music.

The Goldberg variation presents an additional challenge because it was originally composed for the harpsichord and represents the most complex piece of literature for harpsichord.

It is a historical event that the Goldberg variation will be brought by Christopher Taylor.

His concert, which will be organized on Wednesday, 16 April at 19:30 in the B&H House of Armed Forces, is organized by Sarajevo Art in cooperation with Sarajevo Music Academy and Sarajevo Chamber Music Festival.

The main reason for the return of great pianists to Sarajevo are master workshops for piano students from the region, which will be held at the Music Academy from Tuesday to Friday next week, preparations for the program of the Sarajevo Chamber Music Festival.
