The Government of FBiH to borrow 50 million BAM in Commercial Banks this Month?

moneyThe Government of FBiH is planning to borrow another 50 million BAM through two issues of treasury bills in May, mainly from commercial banks.

It is an auction of the Ministry of Finance of FBiH on the Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) that will be held on May 9, this year, in which is planned issuance of 30,000,000.00 BAM, and the nominal value of securities amounts to 10,000 BAM.

From Sarajevo Stock Exchange was announced the second auction of treasury bills in May as well, on which is planned issuance of 20,000,000.00 BAM. The nominal value of the treasury bills is 10,000.00 BAM, and that auction is scheduled for May 23, 2017.

From the Ministry of Finance of FBiH noted that buyers of treasury bills of the FBiH were mainly from the banking sector in the previous period, which is followed by insurance companies and investment funds.

After the session on March 23, from the Government of FBiH was announced that the domestic borrowing of FBiH was foreseen in the gross amount of 360 million BAM and it will be realized through the issuance of treasury bills with a maturity of 3, 6, 9 and 12 months.

The Prime Minister of FBiH Fadil Novalic recently said that the Government of FBiH needs to borrow the money because, otherwise, the holes in the budget would be reduced by taking money from social benefits.
