Government of Canton Sarajevo will not allow Citizens to be left without Heating

Sarajevogas excluded Toplane from the gas system, explaining that they were forced to make this move due to the lack of natural gas, while Toplane says that they will switch to alternative fuel, but that they have it for today and tomorrow.

The government of Sarajevo Canton will not allow citizens to be left without heating, despite political pressure from the federal level, is the basic message of the meeting of CS Government members with the leaders of “Sarajevogas” and “Toplan” which is still ongoing.

In the last three days, 215,000 cubic meters of less gas were delivered to Sarajevo Canton compared to the guaranteed quantities.

As it was said at the meeting, the deficit was caused by the unforeseen withdrawal of 150,000 cubic meters of gas by “Arcerol Mittal”, in the name of the alleged overhaul.

At this moment, “Energoinvest” demands that the citizens of Sarajevo Canton pay the market price of gas for additional quantities, which is four times higher than agreed, while “Arcelor Mittal” pays additional quantities at lower, previously agreed prices. The CS government will not allow the citizens to bear the blow.

Currently in Sarajevo, 70 percent of boiler rooms run on alternative fuels, due to reduced gas quantities, the CS Government said.
