Government of FB&H: No Increase in the Prices of Electricity?

Electricity Prices faktor.baOne of the points of the agreement that was reached yesterday between the Government of FB&H and the representatives of miners also defines the allocation of funds in the amount of 0.01 BAM per kilowatt hour, starting from November 1st 2015.

Taking into consideration that there are great reserves in the operations of the electricity supply companies and the mines, the Government of FB&H considers that there is no need for increasing the price of electricity at this moment.

„Savings are possible through revision of the operations of the electricity supply companies, which in their collective contract take advantage of the benefits and conveniences that are not in accordance with the standards of public enterprises in B&H. Namely, savings are possible in the segments of reducing wages, daily allowances that amount to 10 percent of an average salary in B&H, different stimulations and salary supplements, as well as health services, not just for the employees but also for their family members“, it was stated in the announcement of the Government of FB&H.

The Prime Minister Novalić also considers that there is no need for increasing the prices of electricity and that it is the last option.

„It is important to emphasize that the means intended for the functioning of the Fund for development and modernization of the coal mines will be provided through savings, restructuring and optimization of operations, and if they are still insufficient, we will also consider the possibility of increasing the price of electricity. However, if each of the parties  that signed this agreement keep up with the agreed and implement the measures defined in it, I am convinced that there will be no increase in the price of electricity. I am encouraged also with the attitudes of the SSRRFB&H and their view of the problem, and I see this as a beginning of a systematic solving of this issue“, stressed the Federal Prime Minister.
