The Government of Republika Srpska has so far invested more than 500 million BAM in the sector of veteran categories, and from the new year an additional 150 million BAM will be invested, said the Minister of Labor and Veterans and Disability Protection of Republika Srpska Danijel Egić.

He pointed out that this is a significant, respectable increase, and that the Government of the Republika Srpska together with the President of the Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik made a maximum effort, so in the negotiations, as he said, they met all the demands that the veteran population asked for in their Assembly in August last year.

“We expect that this situation is not diluted, that the fighters are well organized through local veterans’ organizations, so that there is no abuse, considering that participation is paid for the number of months in the combat zone, so that the number of months would not be increased”, said Egić.

He reminded that the veteran’s allowance has been increased, and that all veterans, including those in the sixth and seventh category, will be eligible from the following month, i.e. the month of application submission.

“The age limit has been lowered from 60 to 45,” Egić said.

He added that, according to the records of the relevant ministry, from the new year, 194,000 veterans will receive a monthly veteran’s allowance, Srna reports.
