Manager of EUROSTAT Pieter Everaers said: ‘Although the progress has been made, technical preparations are to follow, and that must be fully finished. Council of Europe and other International institutions have noted the importance of this census and I call all institutions and political structures to give full support to census. The EU has a clear stance which is to work on communicational aspect , in raising awareness of citizens, and also noting that cooperation and coordination are essential.’

Further details were not said, but Hadžić did say that every answer to census question will have its code, which will be sorted in the second phase in order to prevent any discrimination.

Everaers added that everything is being done in accordance to recommendations of the international community.

The Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to BiH Renzo Daviddi and manager of BIH Statistics Agency Zdenko Milinović signed a contract with which the EU gave BiH 7.5 million EUR to finance the census.

Milinović said that the money will be used for financing field works and data processing, and also to pay all those who’ll work on the census.

According to estimates, the census will cost 46 million BAM.
