The group of Arab Ambassadors in Sarajevo hosted a joint iftar on Saturday on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan in honour of several senior officials and dignitaries from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The iftar was organized by the Ambassadors and Heads of Mission of Algeria, Egypt, Kuwait, Libya, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Among the senior dignitaries attending the iftar were the Speaker of the House of Peoples; the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives; the Minister of Foreign Affairs; the Deputy Grand Mufti of BiH; the Deputy Chairman of the Armed Forces; the Mayors of the City of Sarajevo, Stari Grad and Novi Grad; the Rector of the University of Sarajevo; and other senior officials from the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In his welcome remarks on behalf of the group of Arab Ambassadors, the Ambassador of Libya expressed his sincere appreciation for warmth and hospitality afforded to all the Arab Embassies in Sarajevo and wished the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina a blessed and joyful holy month on the occasion of Ramadan. He further conveyed the collective commitment of the group of Arab Ambassadors to pursue their fruitful cooperation with the Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina with a view towards advancing their bilateral relationship with BiH at all levels and further expanding the growing partnership that binds it with the wider Arab world.
The iftar was also attended by the Ambassadors and Heads of Mission of the Islamic countries accredited to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
