Harsh Reactions after Visit of the ‘Coalition of Three’ Representatives to Banja Luka

Reactions are coming after the Troika leader’s visit to Banja Luka, which was followed by whistles and protests from a group of fighters. Let us remind you that the police administration of Banjaluka prohibited the city organization of the SDP from celebrating the Statehood Day of BiH in this city.

Whistling and protesting by a group of fighters at the arrival of representatives of the Troika in Banjaluka, is the picture from yesterday in this city. Fighters and veterans said that there is no celebration of a non-existent holiday in Republika Srpska, and the guests from Sarajevo, if not at the level of a ceremonial academy, symbolically intended to show that this story cannot be stopped. The day after, reactions are coming.

ŽELJKA CVIJANOVIĆ, member of the BiH Presidency

“Basically, there is nothing here except an effort to provoke someone, we can come here, this is all BiH, etc. The problem is not that it is BiH, but what are you coming to celebrate.”

The leader of the SDS said that no one from the RS went to Sarajevo to celebrate the Day of the Republic of Srpska, not intending to stick a finger in anyone’s eye. Banjaluka is not Serbia, nor will it ever be, Vojin Mijatović responded today to yesterday’s cries of, in his opinion, groups of manipulated fighters.

VOJIN MIJATOVIĆ, vice-president of the SDP of Bosnia and Herzegovina

“I observed those 30 or so fighters yesterday, a sad picture of exposed and cheated people, sad, depressed, paid to come and hate. I know at least half of those old men, several of them called me yesterday and today to apologize, to tell me that they had to, that they gave them for some church.”

The saga about the holidays has been going on for years, it has intensified, reminds analyst Mladen Bubonjić, from the moment the appeal and challenge was initiated on the 9th.

MLADEN BUBONJIĆ, communication specialist

“In principle, the entire state in Bosnia and Herzegovina, not only in the political but in general in the social field, can be viewed from that aspect of reaction to action. And that certainly makes it difficult not only the European path and European integration, but also everyday life, and that is ours, on grief, everyday.”

What happened yesterday is problematic for several reasons, is the opinion of our interlocutor. First of all, because of the ban on gatherings and celebrating the anniversary of ZAVNOBiH in Mrkonjić Grad, but also the reasons for bans in Banja Luka, and gatherings and arrivals despite that.

RUBINA ČENGIĆ, journalist

“It leads us to further divisions towards mistrust, it leads us to further resignations of individuals and groups and it does not lead to anything better. I am afraid that people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, oppressed by fear for their existence, do not understand how manipulated they are and that it is actually a chaotic political picture. ”

GORDANA KATANA, journalist

“That’s why we are 28 years after the end of the war and the signing of the peace agreement here where we are and we repeat: it’s good not to shoot. Indeed, just don’t shoot, the war was continued by all other means and I think that in the long term, all of us as citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina suffer enormous damage .”

Let us remind you that the Banjaluka police administration prohibited the city organization of the SDP from celebrating BiH Statehood Day in this city due to, as stated, security risks.
